Summertime is just around the corner! Summer is all about taking the time to relax and recharge. This weekend, let us give you some ideas for a mini-vacation, in Dallas!
Actor, Kevin Bacon and his older brother, an acclaimed musician and composer, Michael Bacon have teamed up to form The Bacon Brothers. Their Philly roots shapes every song they play, with an eclectic blend of rock and soul. This Friday, June the 9th, they will be performing at the the Kessler Theater. So, head on over there, for a good ol’ time! Doors open 8:30pm. Tickets are $28.

The Grand Prairie Dragon Boat Festival is this Saturday, at Loyd Park! There will be boat races on the waters of the Joe Pool Lake. Bring Lawn chairs and blankets to view these spectacular works of art, float right past you! Enjoy food and craft vendors, a beach area and playground for the kids, and live entertainment throughout the day. Park entry is $10 per car. Hours for the entire Festival are 9:00 and to 6:00 pm.
Texas sure does know how to bring on the spice and what better way to enjoy that than with the Spicy Saturday at the Dallas Farmers Market! Delicious salsas and fiery foods await all who dare to handle the heat, this Saturday, June 10th. Activities are FREE and begin with a Cuban inspired cooking demonstration at 10:30 am, followed by Salsa dance lessons from 11:30 to 12:30. The dance floor will be open for practice 12:30-1:30 pm. Make sure and bring a basket or something, you will be able to walk around and explore all the different vendors, all day long! Hours are 9:00 and to 5:00 pm.
It’s that time of year, again! The 31st Annual Taste of Dallas, in Fair Park, is this Saturday and will be benefiting the North Texas Food Bank. For this year’s theme, it will be “Live Fire: BBQ, Burgers, Brews”. You'll enjoy some of the very best barbecue and burger joints around, including Hutchins BBQ, 18th & Vine, Cattleack, Meat U Anywhere, Bet The House, Billy Oake Acres, Bone Daddy’s, Good Union Urban BBQ and Addison Ice House. Find your favorite celebrity chefs on the stage every hour, including Tim Byres, John Tesar, Tiffany Derry, Travis Heim, Matt Pittman, Dustin Blackwell, Todd David, Danyele McPherson, Jack Perkins, Jesse Griffith and Oliver Sitrin. Also, samplings and pairings from more than a dozen craft breweries. Restaurants from across the region offer up tastes of their best dishes for only $2-$5 on Restaurant Island, positioned around Fair Park’s beautiful Esplanade. Don’t miss tasty shopping in the Taste Marketplace, where attendees can sample their way through dozens of local culinary vendors, local artisans, and more. Tickets are $15 at the gate. Kids 10 and under get in FREE (with accompanying guardian), courtesy of Direct Energy. Discount tickets go on sale, starting in May at area Walgreens, Albertsons and Tom Thumb stores. Get $5 off admission at the gate by bringing 2 cans of tuna or chicken to benefit the North Texas Food Bank. Hours are 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Kick off your Summer with a day filled with fun, live music, mud volleyball tournaments, and more!! The Summer Sizzle Festival is back and this year’s theme has an 80’s flavor. This family-friendly event will have tons of fun activities to partake of! Such as fun contests like a Pet 80's Costume Contest, Air Guitar Contest, Texas Roadhouse Rib Eating Contest, and an 80's Costume Contest (for humans!). Be part of a world Record Setter attempt for the most people wearing a glow stick while dancing to "Can't Stop the Feeling." Check out the free Texas-Sized Yard games, including Jenga, Pong, Cornhole and more! Kids activities include a Splash Zone, inflatables and rides, with unlimited access wristbands for $15. Save $5 on wristbands with a donation of peanut butter and/or jelly to the "Spread the Love" campaign. Single tickets are $1 with most activities costing 2-5 tickets. Free activities include a make and take craft area, temporary Summer Sizzle tattoos, and face painting. New this year is a Bark Zone, with a cooling pool for dogs, agility course and a leash free area. There will also be performances from Ripper and the Bitter Pills, Chaz Marie, Railhead Band, and headliners The Molly Ringwalds. Summer Sizzle will end with a fabulous fireworks show set to music. This event is taking place at the Paschall Park. It’s FREE to enter. Hours are 12:00 to 9:00 pm.
Summer is one of the best times of the year, and nothing reminds you of summer like watching fireworks with friends. This Friday, June 2nd head on over to the Gaylord Texas for the Summerfest Friday Night Fireworks and All-American Garage Party! Make your way to the 5th floor of the resort parking garage at 7 p.m. for music and great food as a live DJ hosts fun and games at the “All-American Garage Party,” all while you countdown to “Friday Night Fireworks” over Lake Grapevine at 9:30 p.m. Best of all, this event is Free!

One of the biggest rap stars in the business, will be coming to Dallas, soon! Future headlines the "Nobody Safe Tour" with Tory Lanez, A$AP Ferg, Kodak Black and Zoey Dollaz. This event will take place at the Starplex Pavillion, Saturday June 24th. Doors open at 7:00pm. Tickets start at $30.
We have a spectacular show in mind, for you! The legendary band, Defttones will be coming to Dallas, this month! Defttones has helped shape the modern rock and roll scene with their mesmerizing melodies and impressive guitar riffs. Deftones will be co-headlining with Rise Against!
