The air is getting more crisp, the leaves are falling off the trees and Fall is officially here! There are plenty of exciting concerts and holiday events to check out this weekend, and in the near future!
It’s the TEXAS-OU weekend and we can tell you how to enjoy it to the fullest!!
This legendary rival game takes place every year during the State Fair of Texas.
Check out the game at Fair Park in Dallas!! If you can’t get tickets to the game, then you can tailgate at the Magnolia Beer Garden inside the State Fair of Texas. Please note, you will need to pay to get into the State Fair in order to access the Magnolia Beer Garden. You could also watch the game from Uptown Dallas! There are plenty of places in Uptown to watch this game! A few favorite spots to check out are the Social House which is for UT fans, Mckinney Avenue Tavern which is for Oklahoma fans, and the Rustic, which is for everyone!. Henderson Avenue is also a cool spot to hang out with your friends to catch the game! The Henderson Tap House is a spot that’s more for Oklahoma Sooner fans. In Dallas, two of the biggest weekends a year are the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and this weekend for the Texas-OU game! Tens of thousands of people will pack out the bars for a lively rivalry that started way back in the year 1900!

One of the concerts we are most excited to see is the legendary Rapper, Lecrae! His uplifting and encouraging lyrics paired with his innovative hip hop style is paving the way for a new genre fueled by positivity and love. Lecrae is a Double Grammy award winning artist/entrepreneur, social activist and author. He has also won a Billboard music award, multiple BET awards, and a few Dove Awards. Lecrae will be coming to Dallas on Saturday, October 14th. This event will take place at the Verizon Theatre. Doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets start at $25.
The Texas State Fair is one of the most fun and exciting events that Dallas has to offer! The theme for this year is “Celebrating Texas”, a nod to the fair’s special history. There will be amazing special events and activities which will include concerts on the Main Stage and College football games. There will also be daily activities that will include the Starlight Parade, the Illumination Sensation lights, and the fireworks show! The State Fair of Texas will run this Friday, October 7th through October 22nd. General Admission is $18. Self Parking is available on official State Fair lots for $15 per space. State Fair hours vary, depending on the day of the week.
Autumn is officially here, and the Dallas Arboretum sure knows how to get you in the mood for Fall! The Autumn at the Arboretum is a spectacular sight to see, with over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash beautifully displayed all over the acres ofDallas Arboretum’s landscape. The gardens are bursting with over 150,000 fall blooming flowers, and there will be a variety of different activities to partake in! This Fall display will be going on until November 22nd. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets start at $15.
This weekend, the Southlake Oktoberfest will show you how to have an amazing time!! There will be the cutest Wiener dogs race and then they will also march in a parade! Amazing bands will perform on two stages, and there will be plenty of food and beer vendors. This event will take place starting this Friday October 6th through the 8th, at the Southlake Town Square for the city’s 16th annual Oktoberfest. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend this FREE festival! This fest will also feature arts and crafts booths. Hours for this event are 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Reindeer Manor Halloween Park at Reindeer Manor, is the one of the oldest haunted houses in Texas, with three haunted attractions. Takes place Friday, October 13th, 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. General admission is $15 for one attraction, $25 for two attractions, $35 for all three attractions. The Parker House Haunted Attraction is a Denton-based haunted house that features three main attractions. This will take place at Parker House from October 12th through October 31st. Hours are 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets start at $25. The Creekside Manor Haunted house is surrounded by dark, ominous woods and offers a traditional haunted house experience. Even better, Creekside Manor sponsors one child in the area battling a serious illness. The net proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated directly to the child’s family. This event will take place at Creekside Manor and will run from October 14th through October 31st. Tickets start at $15 and hours are 7:00 pm to 12:00 am. Then, there’s the Dark Hour Haunted House that will take you on a journey through the Coven Manor. This act has broadway-worth sets and professional actors. This event will take place at Dark Hour Haunted House from October 12th through October 31st. Hours are 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. General Admission is $23. Lastly, there’s the Cutting Edge Haunted House. It’s located in an abandoned meatpacking plant and ranked one of the largest haunted houses in the country. This event will take place at the Cutting Edge Haunted house and tickets can be purchased at the door, cash only. You can pre order tickets online, as well. General admission tickets are $30. Parking is $15. Hours are 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm and this event will run from October 14th through November 4th.

On Tuesday, October 17th the Toyota Music Factory will be hosting Amazon Music's "A Night of Symphonic Hip Hop" starring trailblazing Philadelphia group the Roots and featuring special guests Erykah Badu, Bilal, Robert Glasper and conductor Miguel Atwood Ferguson. You won’t want to miss this!! Doors open at 7:45 pm. Tickets start at $39.
Marc Anthony is coming to town!! This legendary salsa vocalist has stayed on the top of latin music charts for more than a decade! Anthony has won 2 Grammys and has been nominated 6 times!! This tour is called “ Full Circle” and is a tribute to all of his devoted fans that have supported him from the beginning of his career. This event will take place at the American Airlines Center on Sunday October 22nd. Doors open at 8:00 pm and tickets start at $44.
The one, the only- Bruno Mars will be coming to Dallas!! The Hawaiian native grew up singing from a young age, impersonating Elvis and is now a multi-Grammy award winner and has sung for the Super Bowl. Bruno Mars is now traveling the world with his 24K Magic World Tour celebrates his new album, 24K Magic. You won’t want to miss this show! This event will take place on Friday, October 27th. Doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets start at $50.
