Pumpkins Are Everywhere!

It’s finally time for the weekend! Time to kick back and have some fun! Read all about your weekend plans, below.

 

Help give back by going to the Boricua Strong Benefit fundraiser to raise funds for our fellow Americans affected in Puerto Rico by Hurricane Maria. This fundraiser is to help build hope and will also be a celebration of Puerto Rican culture. Planned activities at this family friendly event include a car show, food trucks (Taste of Puerto Rico, Hazel's Back Porch), music by Latin DJs and raffle prizes. Funds raised will be donated to UNICEF. Along with monetary donations, the organizers are also requesting non-perishable food, diapers, baby wipes, blankets, pet food, canned milk, dish soap, laundry detergent, first aid kits, mosquito repellent, stomach and diarrhea relief medicine. This benefit will take place Saturday, October 21st in Fort Worth's Foundry District, adjacent to 7th Street and the Museum District. Hours are 1:00 to 7:00 pm.

 

Kid Cudi is on his “Passion, Pain and Demon Slayin' Tour”  and his next stop is Dallas!! Since coming on the music scene in 2008, Cudi has been known to stay at the top of the charts with hits like “Day n’ Night”, “Pursuit Of Happiness”, and “Erase Me”. Born in Ohio, his real name is Scott Mescudi and he moved up to New York City after high school to follow his dreams. This event will take place on Sunday, October 22nd at the Bomb Factory. Doors open at 9:00pm. Tickets start at $60.

 

 

Autumn is officially here, and the Dallas Arboretum sure knows how to get you in the mood for Fall! The Autumn at the Arboretum is a spectacular sight to see, with over 90,000 pumpkins, gourds, and squash beautifully displayed all over the acres ofDallas Arboretum’s landscape. The gardens are bursting with over 150,000 fall blooming flowers, and there will be a variety of different activities to partake in! This Fall display will be going on until November 22nd. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets start at $15.

 

 

The Texas State Fair is one of the most fun and exciting events that Dallas has to offer! The theme for this year is “Celebrating Texas”, a nod to the fair’s special history. There will be amazing special events and activities which will include concerts on the Main Stage and College football games. There will also be daily activities that will include the Starlight Parade, the Illumination Sensation lights, and the fireworks show! The State Fair of Texas will run this Friday, October 7th through October 22nd.General Admission is $18. Self Parking is available on official State Fair lots for $15 per space. State Fair hours vary, depending on the day of the week.

 

This weekend, experience a blast from the past, take it back to 2004 with Evanescence!! This legendary band is coming to Dallas to bring you hits like “Bring Me to Life”, “My Immortal”, “Going Under” and more!! This event will take place Sunday, October 22nd at the Toyota Music Factory. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets start at $42.

 

It’s almost time for Halloween! Get in the spirit with the Zombie Pub Crawl! Walk through the famous Deep Ellum streets while dressed as zombies! Zombies will be divided into two groups this year: The Walking Dead and Zombie-Land. The 2 groups will stop in the same bars, just at slightly different times. 

The Bars will be: Dot's Hop House, The Parlor on Commerce, Drugstore Cowboy, Green Room and Wits End. You will need to purchase a wristband to participate and that gets you access to special deals at every bar. Best of all, proceeds benefit Dallas Pets Alive!! This event will take place on Saturday, October 21st at 7:00pm. Prices start at $10.

 

We have your guide to the funnest Haunted houses, this month!

Reindeer Manor Halloween Park at Reindeer Manor, is the one of the oldest haunted houses in Texas, with three haunted attractions. Takes place Friday, October 13th, 8:00 pm to 12:00 am. General admission is $15 for one attraction, $25 for two attractions, $35 for all three attractions. The Parker House Haunted Attraction is a Denton-based haunted house that features three main attractions. This will take place at Parker House from October 12th through October 31st. Hours are 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets start at $25. The Creekside Manor Haunted house is surrounded by dark, ominous woods and offers a traditional haunted house experience. Even better, Creekside Manor sponsors one child in the area battling a serious illness. The net proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated directly to the child’s family. This event will take place at Creekside Manor and will run from October 14th through October 31st. Tickets start at $15 and hours are 7:00 pm to 12:00 am. Then, there’s the Dark Hour Haunted House that will take you on a journey through the Coven Manor. This act has broadway-worth sets and professional actors. This event will take place at Dark Hour Haunted House from October 12th through October 31st.Hours are 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. General Admission is $23. Lastly, there’s the Cutting Edge Haunted House. It’s located in an abandoned meatpacking plant and ranked one of the largest haunted houses in the country. This event will take place at the Cutting Edge Haunted house and tickets can be purchased at the door, cash only. You can pre order tickets online, as well. General admission tickets are $30. Parking is $15. Hours are 8:00 pm to 10:00pmand this event will run from October 14th through November 4th. 

 

Marc Anthony is coming to town!! This legendary salsa vocalist has stayed on the top of latin music charts for more than a decade! Anthony has won 2 Grammys and has been nominated 6 times!! This tour is called “ Full Circle” and is a tribute to all of his devoted fans that have supported him from the beginning of his career. This event will take place at the American Airlines Center on Sunday October 22nd. Doors open at 8:00 pm and tickets start at $44.

The one, the only- Bruno Mars will be coming to Dallas!! The Hawaiian native grew up singing from a young age, impersonating Elvis and is now a multi-Grammy award winner and has sung for the Super Bowl. Bruno Mars is now traveling the world with his 24K Magic World Tour celebrates his new album, 24K Magic. You won’t want to miss this show! This event will take place on Friday, October 27th. Doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets start at $50.

 

Jay Z will be coming to Dallas with his “4:44” tour!! There is isn’t much more you can say about Jay Z, other than he is definitely one of the best rappers of our age. The Bronx native started out rapping in 1996 with the legendary Biggie Smalls. Fast forward to 2017, and he is still at the head of the game, packing out stadiums and married to the Queen Bey, herself. You won’t want to miss this amazing show!! This event will take place at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, November 7th. Doors open at 8:00 pm. Tickets start at $35.
