Cinco De Mayo Weekend Is Here!
Cinco De Mayo is here and we have all kinds of festivals and food you could partake in!
It’s a well-known fact that Dallas has some of the best Tacos and Margaritas, in the country! But did you know that Dallas is the birthplace of the frozen margarita? Get ready to have tons of fun and read all about your weekend plans, below!
This Friday, head to the Taqueria la Ventana, in the Downtown or Uptown location from 2:00-9:00 pm. Cinco de Mayo party features drink specials (2-6 p.m.), Top Shelf El Jimador Margaritas & Chambord Swirls, cerveza tastings by Corona & Modelo, Mexican Soda Tasting by Jarritos. Giveaways and more fun on the patio. There will be live music by Tamborazo de Arranque from 6-9 p.m., giveaways and more Cinco fun.
Cinco de Mayo on Lowest Greenville will have quite a party for you! Lowest Greenville Collective will be hosting this fun block party. Visit the 20-plus businesses, restaurants, and bars on Lowest Greenville between Ross and Belmont for Cinco de Mayo fun and $5 deals. If you’ve never been to Truck Yard, this weekend is a great opportunity to check it out! Truck Yard is one of the coolest places in Dallas to hang out and have a great time! This Friday, celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Truck Yard style with $5 specials on:16 oz Dos Equis and Cazadores Tequila Shots.
Head over to the Rustic for a good time! There will be Photos with Poncho the Miniature Donkey, Free Live Music by Squeeze Box Bandits, and more! They will also be serving Rustic-style “Texican” staples, all day long! This event will run from 5:00 to 11:00 pm.
It's a Fiesta at the Dallas Farmers Market! This Friday there will be live music, beer tasting, food and merchandise vendors, games, cigar roller, photo lounge and so much more!! This event is free and will run from 6:00 to 11:00 pm.
Mexican Sugar knows how to party! Margarita specials, live music and a strong-man piñata competition are part of the fun at the restaurant's block party at the Shops at Legacy. Dance to a live band from 5-10 p.m., take a swing at a tough-to-break piñata for the chance to win a $150 Mexican Sugar gift card. Food tents will be serving street tacos, churros and other Latin favorites. Frozen and Classic Margaritas are specially priced at $7.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the DMA this year, for free! There are so many amazing exhibits, to behold! The exhibition México 1900–1950: Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, José Clemente Orozco, and the Avant-Garde will be open from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a special Cinco de Mayo menu offered in the DMA Cafe.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Sundown with live music, at Sundown at Granada in Lower Greenville. There will be $7 flauta special and $3 Modelo drafts. No cover.
There will be performances by: The Clinton Years at 4:30 pm, DJ Sober at 11 pm and Pearl Earl at 12:30 am.
Music lovers, this is for you!! The Dallas International Guitar Festival is a musician’s dream! See hundreds of instruments and equipment in the exhibit hall. Buy, sell, trade or just bring your guitar. Friday and Saturday night concerts feature Ted Nugent, Andy Timmons, Ian Moore, Eric Gales, Derek St. Holmes, Mark Lettieri, George Lynch, Jim Suhler, Maylee Thomas and Wes Jeans, as well as hundreds of exhibitors. There will also be a Texas 10 under 20 stage all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, featuring bands under 20 years old. The 10 under 20 contest will begin at 10 am. Sunday morning. Single day tickets are $25. Two- and three-day festival passes and concert-only tickets are also available. This event will take place at the Dallas Market Hall.
Get ready for a good time! One of the BEST concerts of the year is taking place, this weekend!! The JMBLYA is a music festival that appeases fans of all genres with performers like: Multi-Grammy winner Chance the Rapper, DJ Steve Aoki, Miggos, Gucci Mane and many more!! You can’t miss this!!!! This event will take place at Fair Park Coliseum on Friday, May 5th. Doors open at 2:00 pm. Tickets prices have gone up now! Ticket prices start at $99.
Need plans for your Saturday? Head over to the Granada Theater for the Bugs and Brews Crawfish Festival! Granada Theater knows how to bring the succulent smells and sounds of New Orleans to Lower Greenville for round two of this Louisiana-backyard crawfish boil. This year’s event will be on a Saturday instead of a Sunday, so you’ll have all of Sunday to recover before going back to work on Monday. It’s an all-day, outdoor party full of pounds and pounds of crawfish, one stage featuring performances from hand-picked bands, and all sorts of fun stuff the whole family can enjoy. This year’s lineup of bands and artists will include Charley Crockett, Somebody’s Darling, The Tontons, Atlantis Aquarius, Grady Spencer and The Work and more. This event will run from 12:00 to 8:00 pm.Tickets start at $15. I highly suggest ordering your ticket online, in advance to save some money.
Head over to the American Airlines Center for the Chris Brown Party Tour with none other than 50 Cent!!!! There will also be performances by Fabolous, O.T. Genasis, Kap G, and hopefully other artists who actually know how to spell words correctly, lol!! This event will take place Saturday, May 6th. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $35.
Update!! Last week we told you about this awesome festival called the “World’s Largest Dog Day. It was supposed to take place April 29th and they now moved it to May 7th! What could be better than a Dog Festival?? Get ready to experience a glimpse of heaven at the World’s Largest Dog Day at Dr. Pepper Ballpark!!! Bring your pup for a fun day at the ballpark. There will be crazy contests, a talent show, grooming lessons, enclosed free play area, giveaways, and more. Don't have a dog? Come and join in the fun and visit the adoption groups to find your new best furry friend. Free admission for dogs. People ages 2 and older need a ticket. This event will take place Saturday, April 29th. Online ticket prices $10- $17, $20 at the gate. Hours are 12:00-4:00 pm.
